Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu is yet another big-budget film that has set the cash registers ringing at the Box-Office. The film has a strong story, and Mahesh’s characterizations are very much different from his regular roles in commercial entertainers. His role as Harsha is reserved yet emotionally strong and has got good response, and Mahesh has given full credit to director Koratala Siva for handling his character and film striking chords with audiences.

Director Krish is one filmmaker who always pushes the envelope content-wise, and he has a niche fan base. His films are not commercial hits, but Kanche proved otherwise and is managing to garner decent collections at the box-office. Casting Varun Tej, Pragya in leads, Kanche film was released with English subtitles, it opened to overwhelming response. The war-based period movie is set against the World War II backdrop and the unit has shot war scenes in Georgia. The dialogues and the racy screenplay were major assets.

Director Maruthi has made the film in quite entertaining format that is liked equally by family audiences and youth alike.

It is also the season in proving the women-power in Telugu film industry. Heroines are looking for changes in this hero-dominant industry grabbing the woman-centric films. Arundhati actress Anushka Shetty is always ready for powerful female-centric characters and as many as three of her powerful-role films reached screens in 2015. She had a small-but powerful role in Baahubali first part, while Anushka has delivered brilliant performance as Queen Rudrama Devi in Gunasekhar’s directorial. The film had a decent successful run at the box-office, and resulted as average grosser due to high budget constraints.

Anushka Shetty’s Size Zero by director Prakash Kovelamudi is one of the much-awaited experimental flicks, where the makers comes with a message that “Beauty is skin deep and it’s about accepting yourself the way you are.” Anushka has taken a bold decision of putting on 20 kgs to suit the part in the film, which also features Arya and Sonal Chauhan as other leads. The teaser trailers of Size Zero have got excellent response and Tollywood fans are eagerly waiting for the movie release.

Nagarjuna, Karthi and Tamanna are teaming up for an offbeat film Oopiri, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual in Vamsi Paidipally direction. Oopiri is the official remake French comedy-drama The Intouchables, but the makers have implemented changes for Telugu, Tamil nativity. Oopiri is all about a bond that links the relationship between two mates and symbolizes friendship. Santosh Narayanan is composing feel good songs and PVP Cinemas is the production house.
