Story
The story of a call girl Kamala Rani (Archana) set in 1950's. Kamala comes across Suryanaraya (Sivaji) who thinks he came to him searching for callgirl, but finally she knows that he is the man for whom she is looking for. Suryanarayana came to the village in search of his childhood friend and promises Kamala to marry her and get out of her from this present living. Rest of the story will Suryanarayana marry Kamala or not ? What situations trouble them?
Performance
Sivaji does his character to his best but looks acting in few scenes rather than natural. He could have done better justice if it was performed naturally.
Archana is well suited for the role Kamala. She gets thumbs up for her performance in the second half. Looks sensuous in songs..
Others are adequate
Technical Analysis
Muralimohan Reddy's camera work is simply superb. He showed the entire film as shot in 1950's the same village nature and greenery utmost beautiful. Songs are big minus and editing is ok. Dialogues are clean and art direction is impressive. Direction by Narasimha Nandi is commendable. Production Values are rich.
Analysis :-
First half of Kamalatho Na Prayanam starts off on a rustic note which slowly takes in to the feel of the story. The film takes the audience to 1950's village culture and the pain of a call girl is showcased naturally. Pace of the film in this half tests the patience but the story touches the heart at the interval scenes.
Second half is the major plus and takes the audience in the real story where the human emotions which are missed in the current generation is shown. The on-screen chemistry between Sivaji and Archana is really good which makes audience to connect to the film. Placement of Songs of the film plays spoil-sport to the narration. This half is easily predictable. Lastly to say the film has no entertainments elements like comedy et al.
