Venkatadri Express Movie Review

Venkatadri Express film starrer Sundeep Kishan and Rakul Preet has released worldwide today admist mixed expectations. Zustcinema presents Venkatadri Express Movie Review below...

Story

Sundeep (Sundeep Kishan) is the young lad who falls as a prey for his mistakes in front of his dad Ram Murthy (Nagineedu), a retired headmaster. Ram Murthy implements strict rules in home and punishments too for disobeying them. As per his rule, Sundeep comes closer to 99 mistakes and his father warns him that he will be pushed out of the home for 100th mistake.

Their family boards Venkatadri Express for Sundeep’s brother Brahmaji’s wedding in Tirupathi. Sundeep misses the train and the efforts made by him to board on the train forms rest of the story.

Performances

Sundeep Kishan proved himself as a solo hero with his impressive performance, dances and good emotional scenes in the end.

Rakul Preet Singh is limited to her character and looked pretty in love making scenes.

Sapthagiri as Dasthagiri is hilarious, Thagubothu Ramesh is best at his role and the same with Nagineedu as a strict father. MS Narayana is wasted and others are up to their characters.

Technical Analysis

Ramana Gogula's music is hummable and his BGM is connected with the mood of the film’s proceedings. Chota K Naidu shows every frame colorful and his work is on top-notch. First half is good with its racy screenplay along with neat dialogues. Editing is good. Thumbs-up for debutant director Merlapaka Gandhi for handling the film without going off-track. Production values are rich.

Analysis

Venkatadri Express starts of with a family drama that works with its fast pace screenplay with the punchy yet neat dialogues. First half has good ingredients of family sentiment and entertainment is at peaks.  Interval scenes are managed well and raising interest to watch the second half.

Second half opens slowly and then the story goes much predictable. This half lacks pace and drags everything to the climax which can be predictable by the audience. But the right mix of situational comedy scenes makes audiences glued to screens. Climax is routine as we have seen the emotional turn up of father-son sequences in earlier films. On a while, Venkatadri Express manages audiences glued to screens for its neat screenplay and entertaining comic scenes.
