Universal hero Kamal Haasan's upcoming thriller Cheekati Rajyam which was initially planned for November 12th release on the eve of Diwali has now been postponed to November 20. Kamal Haasan confirmed the film’s postponement.

Kamal Haasan said, “We have decided to release the Telugu version Cheekati Rajyam on November 20, to clear way for huge release of Akhil film. It’s not right for us to compete with a debutant's film and hence the delay. Thoongavanam, the Tamil version of the film will release as per scheduled date on November 10.”
Cheekati Rajyam featuring Trisha, Prakash Raj, Madhu Shalini and Sampath Raj in other chief roles is directed by Rajesh M Selva, and produced on Raj Kamal Films International. Ghibran has scored the music.
