IIFA UTSAVAM 2015 kick off with a Premiere Voting Event

THE INTERNATIONAL INDIAN FILM ACADEMY (IIFA) ANNOUNCES THE FIRST-EVER‘IIFA UTSAVAM’: A MAGNIFICIENT CELEBRATION OF THE CINEMA OF SOUTH INDIA

South Indian Cinema Stars Prakash Raj, Rana and Venkatesh among the first to cast their vote

Hyderabad, November 3rd, 2015: December 2015 will witness IIFA celebrations, India’s biggest Cinema event, celebrating South Indian Cinema like never before. Marking a landmark event in the illustrious history of the Cinema of South India, The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has announced Fortune Sunflower Oil IIFA UTSAVAM co-powered by Gionee smartphone- a magnificent extravaganza envisioned to honor and recognize the best of South India’s film industry.

Spanning across three days, IIFA Utsavam will debut on the 4th, 5th & 6th of December, 2015 at Gachibowli Outdoor Stadium, Hyderabad. The broadcast partner for the extravaganza is the Sun Network, while the Title sponsor is Fortune Sunflower Oil from the Adani Group.

South Indian Cinema film stars showed their support by voting for their favourite movies and talent at the IIFA Utsavam Voting Day and announcement event held at Park Hyatt, Hyderabad. Among the biggest names of South Indian cinema Prakash Raj, Rana and Venkatesh were among the first to cast their vote.

Bringing together the biggest megastars from the South Indian Film Industry including Kamal Hassan, A.R Rahman, Trisha, Venkatesh, Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna, Mohanlal, Kavya, Madhavan, Priyadarshan, Shivrajkumar, Puneet Rajkumar, among other superstars will all congregate for one grand Utsavam- the IIFA Utsavam.

Encompassing four massive film industries of South India, the Tamil, the Telugu, the Malayalam and the Kannada - The Cinema of South India is being celebrated as a single entity. Known for its larger-than-life movies, flamboyant superstars, immense talent pool, technologically advanced productions, loyal fan following, the Cinema of the South has created waves not only in India but also made a name for itself on the global map.

IIFA Utsavam’s illustrious Advisory Board comprises eminent personalities include A R Rahman, Kamal Hassan, Suresh Babu, KS Rama Rao, Boney Kapoor, Nagarjuna, Allu Aravind, Resul Pookutty, R B Choudhary, Ram Kumar, Mukesh, Sibi Malayil, B Unnikrishnan, Ramesh Aravind and Radikaa Sharathkumar.

Day 1 of the event will see IIFA partnering with FICCI for the FICCI-IIFA Business Forum. The forum will feature prominent film personalities, CEOs, policy makers and industry leaders meet to discuss Cinema-tourism, infrastructure, media, cinema co-productions and investment opportunities.

On Day 2, IIFA Utsavam will felicitate and celebrate talent from Tamil & Malayalam film industries.

On the final day, IIFA Utsavam will felicitate and celebrate the best talent from Kannada and Telugu cinema. Nominees be vying for 12 popular awards; 6 special awards will be presented to winners from each region. Common across the 4 language-cinemas, technical Awards will be presented for 10 categories.
