Sikander Movie Review

Story

Raju Bhai (Suriya) is gangster of the crime world in Mumbai makes a large empire along with his friend Chandu (Vidyut Jamwal). In a drastic fight between Imran Bhai(Manoj Bajpai) and Raju Bhai, Chandu was shot dead. Raju Bhai was too shot while he comes to known the cheating by some of his gangmembers. Coming to the present Krishna (Suriya) comes in search of his brother Raju Bhai to Mumbai. Finally he comes to known the illegal activities of his brother.

Why Raju Bhai and Krishna seperated? What happens to Raju Bhai ? forms the crux of the story.

Performances

Suriya is the main asset of the film and does his kind of excellent performance in and as Raju Bhai and Krishna. He looks stunningly good as handsome and on flip side the don look.

Samantha sets the fire on the screens. She adds the  glamour quotient and sizzled in a mini bikini which is a surprise to the viewers. Samantha had a romantic on-screeen chemistry with Suriya.

Vidyut Jammwal, Manoj Bajpai does their best. Brahmanandam, Dalip Tahil are just okay and others are adequate.

Technical Analysis

Yuvan Shankar Raja’s backgrounds are lou to hear and songs are medicore. Cinematography by Santosh Sivan is impressive with every frame showcased with loads of colors. Linguswamy failed to attempt a new story and even the screenplay is dull. Production Values are grand.

Analysis

The first half of Sikandar starts off with a good pace and enters to the story plot. Establishing the gangster Suriya doesn’t take much time but looks as an earlier viewed film. Couple of twists before the interval are good and rest are patience testers.

Second half starts with revealing the twists and it is amazing. The action sequences fall one after the other which will get the bad talk from the multiplex audience. Finally the story moves on with predictable scenes and a boring climax.
